Newbie just joined the Garrett family!

Hello all. I am retired and very green new detectorist. Have been hanging around here for about three weeks and kept vacillating between different brands and detectors. Kept reading so many good things about the ATP, that I pulled the trigger yesterday and placed my order. I have been watching all the ATP videos I can find. I live in SE Michigan and currently have about 14 inches of snow on the ground, so it will be awhile before I can get outside with it. Anyway, thanks to all who have posted here as I learn something from each post and reply.

Where you live in SE Michigan?

Got my first Garrett in Monroe in '81. Learned to love that black spongecake soil! So many delightful memories there. I used to go into work every Monday morning with a hand full of silver coins!

You purchased a great metal detector. I have been using Various Garretts for 20 years. I have strayed to Minelab, Whites and First Texas a few times, but always seemed happier with Garretts.
