What right does the bank have to impound these $20. gold pieces from anyone? Why would his parents go along with this ? Would the bank be required to pay the interest on these coins since they held them ?

From 1933 to 1974 it was illegal to own gold coin in the US, with exceptions for collectors. But even with that, I don't know how/why the bank had any right to intervene.
 
only thing I Can Figure is They Really Contacted the Police,
& the Police Directed them to the Bank for the best place for Safe Keeping
till the police relesed it. :dontknow:

Waukesha Should have had a Evidence room by the 60's
But Maybe there was a Trust Issue :dontknow:

Of course Maybe The Bank Didn't Take Them. maybe They Rented
a Safe deposit box on their own for a Year. just in case someone turned up :coffee2:
