Here is a photo of the 1854 large cent I found last week, about 100 yards from where the old 1840's house stood in the forest near our home. It was at the base of a tree, next to what I suspect was an old road. Gave me a strong 87 signal on the Fisher F75 LTD. Much iron in the vicinity and many shotgun shells. Finally turned discrimination from 0 to 45 to knock out the shotgun shells. The LC was only about 3 or 4 inches down. Only the 4th or 5th LC I have ever found.

Beautiful piece of history.

Looks like you found one in really great condition. The excitement of the large cent is real! I feel it every time!

That's a good score I'm still looking for my 1st. Well done. Tommy

That is a very nice coin. You should be proud of that one. Congrats!

Awesome find- great condition- Congrats!

Nice find, looks to be in pretty good shape. I'd comb that area hard, and I'd be digging those shotgun shells. : ) May be a shield or v nickel hiding among them.

Love the old copper! :occasion14:
