Hey all I hope your all taking advantage of the great weather I think winter is finally gone.

I know me and the boys...and Linda.. have been kinda quiet lately..we all decided to take a break from out little hot spot and take care of a few fields and other area's that we had researched that will soon be off limits due to the up comming planting season. ( the other site will be there when were done...he he..)

I got out last week with Johnny Mc..Along with some wheat's I ended up getting a small Gold ring and a pretty cool button with an old bike on it..Not sure of the age, Johnny also got a gold ring.

Thursday and today I hit a field I had been researching with Kenpa and his wife Linda, It was not as productive as we had hoped but I did manage 2 buttons and a great 1858 flying eagle with incredible detail. Ken and Linda also got a few nice things, but the best part is we had a lot of fun. Its always a good day spent with friends.

Thanks all for Looking H.H. TnT

Very nice Eagle I couldn't believe the detail when it came out of the ground. Congrats.
P.S. MarkG and I will be going there this morning. Maybe we'll see you there.

Great stuff! I really like the bicycle button. It's listed in Hughes & Lester's The Big Book of Buttons and was valued at $15 at the time of publication (1981), and about double that in a later price update. The one in the book is backmarked "T. W. & W. Paris"— Trelon, Weldon & Weil of Paris, France— c. 1845-65.

Very nice finds you got there. Cool bike button. I remember seeing one of those large bikes in my hometown museum. Can't imagine trying to ride one of those. ;D
Congrats,
MM

PBK...
and what of the eagle and shield with the "1" on it? I can only assume it's militia or military. I've heard when they carry the regiment number on them like that they are worth some bucks.

hey Skrimpy..

It is actually an I in the shield, It is an infantry button civil war or post, maybee Indian war, not really sure of the time period.

thanks for looking TnT

Hey, Skrimpy—

Well, it looks as if TnT caught me asleep at the wheel on the eagle infantry button! :D

Varieties of this design remained in use from 1851 to 1902, so it could have seen service in either the Civil War or the Indian Wars.

Too bad it isn't a "1". Sure looked like it to me at first glance.

Hey Romeo..

I don't have my book in front of me but I think 3 or 4 years total 1854-1858...or at least close..

Thanks for looking TnT..

Wow TNT, those are some really great finds. Love the token and signiture ring. The flying Eagle coin is in pretty good shape also. I found two last year and my partner found two flying eagles in the same yard.
