Hi Everyone,
I went out for a few hours this morning and came back with a very nice class ring.
It was found at 2-3 inches with a White's Eagle VDI of a solid 16.
This is a large 1985 Art-Carved Stadium class ring.
Fortunately, the owners name is inscribed inside the band.
This is a small community, so tracking him down shouldn't be too difficult.
My first class ring find! Woot!

Locating the owner was a simple as opening the phone book.
After meeting up with "Steve", he told me that 27 years ago - when he was a junior in high school - this ring was stolen from his gym locker. His parents bought him a replacement ring about 6 months after losing
the original. He always felt that the replacement ring's gem looked more pink that the red ruby color of the original ring. He brought the replacement to our meeting and we compared them. He was right, the replacement just wasn't quite as cool as the original.

He was stunned that I found the original - and very pleased to have it back.
He plans to keep the original and give the replacement to his son.

I love this hobby...
