Granted, I cleaned it.
But wouldn't have recognized what I had unless I did.
As far as I can tell the seven stars designate it as a Mass Corp. of Cadets button,
but that's all I can find out.
Anybody else know anything about this or recognize it?
I'm curious of the age and level of rank maybe.
It is silver.

Can you make out the full back-mark on the back of the button?

There's no issue with cleaning a button properly when it's loaded with silver! Unless you have a problem with making it better and adding value!

I should clear that up, It's silver plated.
It looks like the stars themselves are enamel or bakelite or something.
