Got out for a few hours today with the Patriot, we headed to the field I got the East India Trading Co. coin at a while back. I seemed to be walking in the right random circles through the iron patch and came up with 5 and a half coins, and some other bits and bobs.
George II copper:

Connecticut Copper, looked good in the field but pretty worn :(:

Cut coin, cut marks on read. ID?

1813 One Penny Token:

Unknown copper, just can't read anything!:

And, the day wouldn't be complete without a crusty copper with just a hint of a bust!:

Little plate that had me going!:

Pretty good day! Too bad the CT isn't good enough to ID.

Yeah I thought it might have been when it first popped out but it's badly worn. Still my first and I'm sure there's more goodies at that site, and the date range is right where we want it!

I'd love to find those coins :icon_thumleft:

I think this is your cut copper-

There's no doubt about that. They're probably the most common condor token to circulate in the North East.

Nothing wrong with any CT, especially a first. I definitely don't take them for granted having not dug one in 7-8 years.

One smashing hunt! Nice group of old coppers!

Was nice to get out for abit...nice breeze keeping the mosquitos away... That area hopefully will produce some real sweet finds over the fall. It's funny how all coins taken out of there were all different. Like you said, the time frame is perfect and anything can pop out! :headbang:

It was a pretty exciting one for me, especially since I was tired and couldn't remember if CT was one of the state coppers at first. :D I have the NJ and CT, now for the others!

I was surprised, I totally thought it was going to be super hot and a mosquito fest. That strong breeze made it a much more enjoyable hunt! I'm sure that site and the surrounding area has more for us.

That site is a winner, so keep hunting it for more CTs. ;D
