Bonjour a tous

A rough translation:

It's been a little while since I had not posted! I greet you with lots of pictures of wood and currencies !

A beautiful little mossy woods well along stream that breathes the old good!

On the findings, the currencies are unfortunately not terrible nice but the key still a pretty little fibula of a completely new style for me!

A bientot!

Re: -= Nice Forest & Nice Hunt =-

Very good my friend! From the look of the woods, at any moment an 18th century wagon will pass by you. Well done on the broach.

Re: -= Nice Forest & Nice Hunt =-

Well done on the brooch!

this is not a brooch is a fibula of extreme rarity !

You can see a woman sitting on a bull which caress a fantastic marine animal.

It meets only 3 cm on three classifications of fibula :

zoomorphic + anthropomorphic + fantasticomorphic

Probably a representation of the Greek legend of europe : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europa_(mythology)

Not a brooch it's a fibula please

[CRUSADER]

Re: -= Nice Forest & Nice Hunt =- (2 news pics)

Brooch is fine, fibula is a posh word for brooch

Looks like Europa and the Bull, the date I'm unsure on, but guess 7-9th C, whats your thought on date?

[Bratvlos]

Re: -= Nice Forest & Nice Hunt =- (2 news pics)

Yes crusader possible link with the Greek legend of Europe but no certainty as this model is until yesterday type totally unknown in Europe.

This is a woman sitting on a "bull marine" holding his right hand a second marine animal (sea serpent)

I was identified as complex zoomorphic fibula, les experts planchent encore dessus.
