Thanks guys, here is the back side....It came up with one bar on the Iron ID and was a loud signal..

I was running 7 on the Sat. and 8 on the gain. I dont remember the ground numbers.. I run those settings alot and do quite well.....How about you Jim any recent finds??

Hi Kuger, that was a small trench find... I found a hill where they trenched up the vein and it was in a small pile. I havent seen Matt in a while....

Stunning specimen!!! Is that bull quartz? Not what you'd normally find Gold in

dj, that isn't bull quartz, you can tell from the iron staining in it. Another thing to look at is the matrix on that piece, not something associated with bull quartz. The thing to remember is that even tho there is iron present, it won't oxidize and stain the quartz if it isn't exposed to air. Just from the pic, I'd have to guess the lode isn't too far away, but in a relative term since that piece has obviously traveled some, but only shows a few years of staining.

I used a GMT to find that piece. I also think we found the source, lots of digs up the hill and one mine where they followed the vein in.

Sweet find, was that a picture of the creek where the rock was found in? if it is then head up stream, the vein source shouldn't be to far away by the looks of the rock. Great find......NOW go up stream and find the vein and keep us posted.

Hi Dan, not realy a creek more of a wash. I have found the source but it has a bear living in it! Im looking for a voulunteer to go in and wrestle him. I think Jim H. will do it.

as the finder of the mine I vote a certain older gentleman ( since he's in the late stages of life anyhow ) enter mine and have bear chase him down/up mountain out of mine
