My wife took a trip down south to visit her mother and help her go thru some things of her fathers, who passed away last fall. Her sisters claimed lots of stuff before she arrived there. My mother in law told my wife that the girls did'nt know about his old coins....my wife actually "roll hunted" thru lots of clad Kennedys to get one 40%.
Here is a pic of some of the silver passed down to us. Kinda cool commem. cinco peso, 72%, also the tiny 1880 Canadian 5 cent piece.
He also had a bunch of wheat pennies and nickels, (1 cud error)

I don't know if this is weird or not but i think one of the neatest things i have done is go through my grandfathers stuff after he passed away. Of course I loved him and would have rather he not passed, but it was really cool just to see all of the stuff he had accumulated throughout the years. It all went to my dad and his brother (minus the tools and one old freemasons ring) but it was a good way to reminisce.

Your little lot of coins would have been a pleasant surprise.
