I don't often search nickels. Last time I did so was the day after hurricane sandy when I was bored at the laundromat. I came up with diddly then. Before that? I don't even remember but I remember it was a skunk. Decided to give them a try again today. Picked up 3 keepers... A dateless buffalo, a 1935 buffalo, and a 1943 P war nickel. Very happy with my finds:) I've never found a buffalo before so when I got excited for the dateless, as that was pulled first. Also, the war nickel was an ender! Anyways, maybe I'll give nickels slightly more attention. This was the most "keepers" I ever found when searching nickels (coulda been more but I don't collect the pre 1950s and 1960s ones "just because" they are old like a lot of people do... Not knocking, I just don't wanna be bothered with them). Alas the picture and I'm off to work! Still got a dime box for tonight! Will report back later! Good day my friends:)

That buffalo almost doesnt look dateless,Looks like a very worn 1918 in the pic.

That's just the light. Really can't tell what it is at all. Dropped it in vinegar and that helped bring a little bit of the first 3 numbers of the date back since this photo was taken. Now you can see "191?" So it's 1913 to 1919 I believe.

I had one a week ago where 193 is visible and it has an S mint mark and last night I found another where only 20 is visible. I got a nice 1937 on Sunday where most of the horn is still showing. I've been doing 4 to 5 boxes of nickels over the last couple off weeks and plan on trying to keep that up for 2013.

I used to do them a lot. I really got bit by the coin bug when I found two war nickels a week apart at work once. Went out and searched nickels for a bit. Hit a few skunks in a row and realized how much harder war nickels are to find than silver dimes are. Been searching dimes mostly ever since. Gotten one other box of nickels in recent memory.

I find more war nickels than silver dimes. Soak the coin in vinegar more to get more of the date.
