I'm taking this week off work to do some Spring cleaning and hang out with my wife while the kids are off at school. Of course, I have to sneak in some extra CRH as well :tongue3:

I'm actually concentrating on getting rid of the over 100 lbs of coins I have accumulated. I can never seem to keep pace with the dumping... So, took back quite a few yesterday, but couldn't resist the urge to swing by one of my supply banks and get an extra box of nickels. My daughter and I went through it yesterday evening, and I was almost regretting getting it as it was not producing very many early nickels. We were surprised when a 1943P War Nickel popped out of a roll about 2/3 of the way through, shame on me for doubting! Nickels have produced consistently for us, we are getting a nice little pile of war nickels, buffalos, early Jeffs, varieties, errors, and such. Haven't gotten a V Nickel yet, but hope to in 2011.

We have been through a ton of nickels, and still only lack the 1955 to finish our set! I did get bored this Sunday and checked all my pre-1960 nickels for varieties (that took a while, I have over 1,000) It was kind of fun, and I did find a very nice 1955 D/S in very nice shape. Might try to get a high-res scan so you can all check it out. It's pretty easy to see with a 10X loupe.

Well, we hope to get some halves today. They didn't come in last week, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Object lesson for us this week: CRH is not for the faint of heart. It requires patience. I really think this will keep the masses from ever joining us. It takes a very special (read crazy) person to do this!

HH to all!!!

In 2009 and 2010 combined I found two 1955s.
Then this year so far I have already found two, and I have only been through a maybe 8 boxes worth of coins.
You will get one sooner or later!

Keep it at! You'll find that one and when you do it will be more special than most people's finding of the 1955.

Strange how some more common coins allude some of us for so long.

??? odd, my last box had 1955p and 1955d in it, but not many pre 1957 nickels, a total of 32 pre 1957's including 2 buffalo nickels and a 1942-p war nickel... ???

Is there a reason why the 1955 series is so hard to accomplish? I have read numerous posts on people waiting to acquire the 1955 nickels.

Anyway, hope you get them next box!!!
