Yeah it definitely was pretty crazy lol

Used to see pennies in sawdust piles for kids. That site is nuts! It would blow my 5 cent an hour average. Thanks for sharing.

I had a couple thoughts about this hunt. Either you found a modern version of the "Five and Dime" store.

Or, maybe, since you mentioned the mulch, there had been a playground in that area and it was moved or just dismantled?

Or, they re-mulched and sodded?

In any case, a VERY fun hunt! Next time you go through a dry spell where all just stays quiet. Don't be quite so hard on the treasure gods. ;)

By the by, if you were missing ALL those coins with the AT-PRO, you need to read the book again! LOL

HH!

I know ive been over that spot with the at pro maybe I didn't have it turned on lol I think it had something to do with easter cause its the second pile I have found there except the first pile was just that a pile of mulch/sawdust and there was coins all in it this was a section of ground

i agree with whadifind to an extent. possibly mulch piles full of change from a dismantled playground. dumped in areas of your park to level areas out. i've seen it done before.spred light layer of loom over and seed it or hay it. you will probally find more areas like that if this is the case. my father said they used to bob for apples, but never hide change in a pile of mulch for the kids to burrow into.
