NJ homestead built in 1750s yeilds shoe buckle and mystery object

I believe the shoe buckle dates to around 1775. The circular object with a cross is reminiscent of crosses I've seen in 17th century England. Any thoughts?

Cool buckle and congrats! The unknown object might be a pin mounted medallion of some Order, Club or Organization but more likely the first.

It looks Nordic to me. Not any kind of expert, me. That's what flashed through my mind. So I looked at images of Nordic Crosses, and it could be. Maybe you have proof of the Vikings getting here first!

That is an awesome buckle! Those old 1700s era buckles are one my favorite finds and there seems to have been many lost up here in New Jersey. The rosette/ medallion item is a great find also.

Outstanding intact 18th century shoe buckle- based on the rusted back of your mystery piece I'm inclined to think early 1900s button. Does the construction appear to be 2 piece?
