A trip back to the first park I hunted confirmed my belief that this park wasn't going to produce. Total finds were 2 quarters 3 dimes a nickel and a few pennies. The only thing really worth mentioning is an old matchbox car. Heres a link of what it looked like in all its glory.

Granted mine was in pretty rough shape, its pretty much just the bottom half of the car, but still a neat find in my book!

Lippy....why in the world would you go to a park that you felt would not produce! I see and hear a lot of odd things here.. :-X...but I see two problems here..

#1 you went in feeling defeated..

#2 you went in with the thought there was nothing to find! ???

Gregg is right-------------- you went in with a negative feeling, and though you got "lucky" and scored some coins and a toy car, you could have found more if you went into the park thinking......
" this is a nice park, I am going to find some coins...and maybe some great items will also turn up!!"

You will be suprised how your thinking can make a good day or a not so good day of detecting.
What size town or city are you in??? If it is a decent size, there should be a few parks to hunt, with some playground areas.
If you need more help there are lots of people on this forum that will be glad to help.......just ask some questions.

Mental attitude has very much to do with what you find. You don't search the same way as you would thinking that you are at a killer place. I could care less if someone tells me a place is hunted out because I KNOW I am going to find something. Allways look at the place like you are the first to hit it, and you will find.
