No Audio on Speaker or Headphones

Well today I went to a new spot to md. Had a 45 min. drive to the location, a 30 min. hike and guess what? When I turned on the machine and no audio. Jmmm wierd. I disconnected the headphone from the plug and turned it on again and nothing. No audio from the speaker either. It just barely sounds through the speaker. I resetted the machine but nothing. The machine looks like it's working but no audio. Looks like it needs to be sent to Garrett for service then. I've only had the ATP for like a year now. Has somebody been through this too?

not exactly, but yesterday I changed locations, got set up and for some reason the volume on mine was lower than usual . Changed to spare headphones, new batteries but no improvement. Went home and this morning checked it and it was fine. Went out hunting and all was normal. Strange.

Really strange! Mine still not working! I already sent an email to Garrett. I hope It still has warranty! Bought mine April 2014 which is exactly 1 year ago!

Hmm You stated you reset the headphone cable, and even without the cable still no sound on the speaker. But did you check/replace/reseat the batteries? Or check to make sure with a voltage meter they are at 6 volts total at the 9 volt connector?

Batteries are almost full. They have been used only for like 3 hours.

Yeah just found out!! Do I need to send the whole md? Just the control unit and coil? Well I sent an email to them yesterday. I hope I get a reply from them today.

Had similar problem with my Ace 250..what I did was take a q-tip with alcohol and cleaned the headphone jack on the 250 and that cured it.

Today I shipped it out to Garrett to have them take a look. The ATP still has warranty. Well no detecting for me 4 a while.[emoji30]

Well this is the new update!
Just got my ATP fresh from Garrett (BTW, U guys are the best!) and will be giving it a test pretty soon! Looks like they replaced the search coil too! (Not a single scratch on it!) Feeling like a kid on christmas again!!!! LOL! HH to me!

Ok I test it out and everything is back to normal...except the stock phones! No sound from them. With the phones installed the sound comes from the unit's speaker. Even though the headphones are pluged. But no sound from the headphones though. There the stock ones which I think its time for an upgrade. How about the grey ghost phones?

I had a similar problem with my grey ghost in my ATP and etrac, make sure the head phone plug is firmly seated in the unit. HH
