I found it in a collection of old coins in a repossessed home, I had authority to take whatever I wanted I'm going thru the collection now, so many old coins.... But mostly foreign so its not as easy to identify via google as usa coins.

if you can identify 3 stars below the eagle its date is between 1917 to 1930. If not if i remember correctly it may be older. I found one with the three stars a while back but mine was a walking liberty quarter. Some of our old hands here may be able to identify better

Based on the wear, enlargement, and misshapenness, I would say it is a barber half that was run over/hammered.
