Diameter in MM? Weight in grams?
Or something we can use as a scale of size?
Bought or found? The story?
Maybe a messy US Barber coin.

Let me find a ruler

I found it in a collection of old coins in a repossessed home, I had authority to take whatever I wanted I'm going thru the collection now, so many old coins.... But mostly foreign so its not as easy to identify via google as usa coins.

[Myrick]

Does that help? I do not have any way to weigh something this size...

[Myrick]

Some of the pre 1930 coins found in this collection so far, for anyone's viewing interest and pleasure. Maybe I should post this in the what I found section.

[Myrick]

I think its a very worn Barber??

[Mackaydon]

OK; maybe a US Barber half dollar.
Don...

[Myrick]

Thanks Don

Wish I could make out the date on it..

[FoundInNC]

Barber half

[bman3725]

if you can identify 3 stars below the eagle its date is between 1917 to 1930. If not if i remember correctly it may be older. I found one with the three stars a while back but mine was a walking liberty quarter. Some of our old hands here may be able to identify better

[Myrick]

Thanks guys..

Yep.. cant quite make out any stars under the eagle... But at the least worth its weight in silver.

[wingmaster]

Yep looks like a very worn barber half to me, congrats and HH

[cudamark]

It looks bigger than the Kennedy for some reason.....optical illusion?

If you need any help with IDs or values of the coins you found, just PM me and I will send you my email so that you can send pics of both sides of each coin for ID/value purposes.

[RelicHunter97]

Based on the wear, enlargement, and misshapenness, I would say it is a barber half that was run over/hammered.
