I had a small window of opportunity to get out today, between work and the pouring rain. I visited my early to mid 1800's house that I've had very good luck at in the past that has produced multiple wheats, Indians, Mercs, Barbers, Shield and V nickels. With the moist ground I was really hoping to locate my first Seated, or maybe even a Capped. Twas not to be though, I got to chatting with the sweet, elderly couple that live there, they invited me in and fed me coffee and cookies until the rain slowed down, and then time was my enemy and I could only manage 40 minutes until darkness fell, but I did manage a few keepers...the 1905 Indian, 1910 Wheat and the 1898 V nickel. This ground treats my coppers well..though the V nickel is slick, both of the one centers came out nice...thanks very much for looking...Ddf

Thanks for sharing!

Excellent circumstantial experience and 40 minute MD finds!

Not bad for just a short hunt! Gotta love permissions like that where the owner(s) enjoy you being there and your success as much as you do yourself.
That seated and capped are still there waiting on you.

Thx deershed! They're GREAT people, last time I stopped there to hunt, I helped the Mr. drag a water heater out of the basement and drag the new one in. Permission for life! Lol...Funny thing...he collects, buys, sells and restores antique pocket watches, and this summer we dug a nice one out of his yard. We presented it to him...he was stunned! While the outside was a little worn, he told us the insides were almost pristine and contained a lot of rare and expensive pieces. Don't you just LOVE this hobby!?...Ddf

Nothing bad about that hunt, ddf.........and the folks have taken you in out of the rain!! Sweetness abounds!!

Nice digs! Its a treat to get out after a good soaking rain...especially in late January. Beats the heck out of snow!
