No treasure hunting in the nude at SC park
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -- Town leaders don't want any treasure hunting in the nude at a new park on Charleston Harbor in Mount Pleasant.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports a Mount Pleasant Town Council committee wants to ban nudity, treasure hunting and feeding the birds at a new $14 million waterfront opening next month.
Town administrator Mac Burdette says officials don't expect nudity to be an issue, although the rule could be used if someone wears a revealing thong bathing suit or changes clothes in public.
And it's not that the town dislikes birds. But Burdette says constantly feeding birds will attract sea gulls whose dung would make a mess of the new park.
The proposals still must be approved by the entire council.
And I was looking forward to treasure hunting nude while I fed the birds. Oh well. There goes my vacation.
