These pieces belonged to my Great Great Great Uncle who served in the 31st Maine, His military belt with US buckle, cartridge box with US plate, Bayonet with original scabbard ( bayonet and scabbard have battle damage on the tip), his canteen, also have his 1864 Springfield but do not have a pic of it currently, enjoy!! 248490_1908893936355_1692901_n.webp250515_1908894136360_3422516_n.webp249998_1908893776351_6749692_n.webp246885_1908894056358_4164868_n.webp

That is really great stuff!!!

Keep that stuff close to your heart my friend thats true family history-Dont wanna see you on pawn stars! EVER

beautiful! you should write down everything you know about him & keep it with these treasures. It's so easy for us to rely on oral history, but so much gets lost along the way

wow those are great. I hope they are cherished by the family forever

oh believe me they are quite cherished, and will remain in this family as long as i am around

Good job on saving your family history. 150 years worth. Nice items and well preserved.

Awesome! Would love to see a pic of the rifle. I have a couple of old batttle rifles but none with a family history. You are fortunate that this has been passed down and preserved. We should all be thankfull for the sacrifices of so many to preserve our way of life.

will get a pic of the rifle up in the near future

Nice very nice! It's cool to know that they are still being passed on to the family. Now you will be the one to pass them on one day. Just keep them going. Very cool.

Thanks for sharing those special family heirlooms :icon_biggrin: Very nice shape I might add
