I've got the point hunting bug big time. I've been fooling around for years, walking creek beds and the occasional tilled field, but I've got the fever bad this year!

So, yesterday after work I want to the banks of the Little Miami river. I found some interesting stuff, but the two items below appeared most unique to me.

The left piece: Is it a common, fossilized river stone? Ordinarilly, I would think so, but the small concave on the bottom of the stone appears man-made. Am I crazy?

The right piece: This is a nice piece of flint regardless, but is this maybe a scraper, knife or effigy? There's a contour for your right thumb when you hold it...

Comments welcomed! What do you all think? Do I have "artifact fever"? (I'm certain "Ohio" will think so ;D )

Thanks in advance and happy hunting!

Rocks........Keep looking .... :icon_thumright:

allways hunt near water. or any hills that are near water.
or where a creek meets a river. all great places

Where 2 pieces of running water meet is always good, and any place that has a natural spring is usually super good.....Springs didnt freeze solid.......

natchitoches and Treasure_Hunter,

Thanks for the great tips! I intend to use them in future outings.

Thank you,

Shane
