I went to one local, heavily used beach yesterday on the Chesapeake. The water had blown out maybe 40 to 50' from the low tide mark. Now I know why I don't go in the water. The amount of BIG broken glass there along with sharp aluminum was amazing. I spotted a few bottles with necks sheared off just waiting for a swimmer to come along. Ugh.

There were very few good targets there. The place gets hammered daily by guys with underwater machines and wetsuits in the summer and fall months. I found some coins, a few toys, a junk watch and to my amazement, this ca 1900-1915 intact beer bottle lying with the new stuff. Standard Brewery Co. Baltimore MD. Not cleaned up yet.

Storms are good for something, nice one Smokey.

I hate storms. It's still real blowy here now. I'd go out some more but the old cat is getting tired these days. I dug so many good targets yesterday I just about fell over from exhaustion. That was a site #2.

Sweet bottle find! :occasion14:

Thanks pro. It was NOT what I was expecting. I was expecting some gold the wetsuit guys missed.

The bottle is still a nice find even though you didn't find any missed gold

So did anyone get anything from the nor'easter?

Neat find on that old bottle.

Nice find Smokey. Always like to see the bottles.

I like bottles too. NOBODY else went out and found anything?

Chatterbait, you may be right. Of course some roads were closed.

dts52 I hid inside from the wind all day today. No snow here but flurries and it melted fast.

Between this and your recent cannonball, you're tearing it UP. I love bottles made locally, and for me, Baltimore is almost local.

Thanks parsonwalker. NOBODY was silly like me going out in the howling wind? Well, we have another chance this weekend as there is another nor'easter coming in about Wednesday. Phooey. Phooey is a technical term.

am I bad for watching storms on the beach on the weather channel and wishing I was there?

No Jeff, you are not bad. I would not have wanted to be at a beach farther north than here, however. I hope somebody got something beside this here bottle. Which was a surprise for sure.
