Swinging in a cornfield in autumn is fun! The VDI for the 1852 3 cent was 64 and the coin was about an inch under dirt...dig all those non-ferrous signals in the older spots! Really love the heel plate. Question: Did civilians use heel plates often? If mainly military, I’m thinking it could have come off a Civil War veteran in the field(?)

Also of note is the cuff/vest two piece button on the right. The image is of a primitive train.

Congrats on the Trime!

Congrats on the great finds and the trime!? Amazing. I still haven't found one and to be honest I think I would probably pass it by thinking the tone was trash. I think the heel plates where worn by military and civilian but I'm no expert!

Great finds. Those trimes are tough to find. I have only dug 2 in 32 years.
