Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
2 Silver Quarters 1948 & 1961. 2 silver dimes 1956 and 1962.
2 late 50's wheats.
One looks like silver ring ( boy scout ring) if I am not mistaken.
One Grim Land Play Token and a ton of clad and nickels all found with a Fisher CZ-3D.

Had a 1266 X years back and then gave up detecting for a decade. Just got back into it and
tried this new machine out. Was not sure about it at first as I loved my 1266, but it just took
some time to get used to. It is a coin killer, just set it at notch level 3.

All these items found under an old apple grove in NorthEast Pennsylvania. Note the unspent 22 short.

Great finds!
:icon_thumright:

where are you from man? I'm from the Carbondale area- good deal anytime you find silver!!! wow- 4 silvers in one outing! I've only found 1 silver dime (1906 barber) from a local park- and I've hit those areas lots of times since that find. how deep were the silvers you found if you can recall? I am bumming as I've been turning up clad every outing!

Found them about 2 inches down. When I saw the first quarter roll from the hole I thought I was in a pirate movie.
You could tell from the thickness and complexion (they dont tarnish too easy) what it was.
All the silver was a pocket spill for sure; all in the same vicinity along with the .22 shell.

No, I am south of you. Nowhere near Carbondale.

ah well- all good on the pocket spill. I'm from the mt cobb area - but moved to carbondale a few years ago. the last pocket spill I had was from a local school that had wheat pennies in it. It looked like half a roll of pennies got 'lost' - very cool find finding a few wheats in the mix! (only could have been better if it was like your silver find!!!) :notworthy: anyhow- good to see someone from around my area NEPA even if your further south...good luck man. :icon_thumright:

Glad to hear you are getting back in the hobby. Doesn't look like you lost your touch!

Hope you don't mind that I resized your picture. :D

Back and on fire, congrats on the silver! What are you swinging now, not that it really matters? HH, Mike

Fisher CZ-3D.
I left off with a 1266-X 10 years ago (never should have sold it).
So, I went for the CZ-3D. I wasn't sure of it...new technology and all.
But, I get it now. It is a great machine, just took some sound:dig correlation to understand what is what.
Set on notch 3 hears the nickles real clear and anything else coin-like.

hey im from factoryville if anyones interested me and a buddy are gonna go this weekend and see what happens this is my first time other then goin to like the state parks and local parks like that so if interested lemme know

Welcome back. Silver is definitely a sweet way to start the process. Good luck and happy hunting.
