Detector(s) used
Cheap `Ol Bounty Hunters. LOL! Someone Tell me a good one to buy!!
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
This was not dug up with a metal detector, but was purchased at an estate sale. I would still like help with it though if anyone can give me some. It appears to be silver the way it is tarnished and its appearance in general, but I could be wrong. it has the numbers "8035" with a hallmark of 3 signs, first appears to be a lions head, then a sun, then another lions head (although it may be a horse head, its too hard to tell). what throws me off is that it is not solid on the bottom, there is a round (although not perfectly round) hole and a small opening on the top. it appears to be very old. can anyone give me any info at all to either the hallmarks, numbers or why it has a round hole in the bottom and small hole in the top?

My first thought is a condiment container and the slot in the top would allow for a spoon, etc.

Best,

Could you provide a better pic of the hallmark?

I cannot quite make it out.

Beth

i have posted pics of hallmark. any idea? thanks for your help. what i also dont understand is the "8035". on the bottom. ive never seen that number on any silver before. but it looks and tarnished like silver. as stated, it appears the first and last marks are the same. either a horse head or lions head. the middle one appears to be a sun or something. hard to tell.

Could be a "limited edition" of maybe 10,000 and yours is number 8035.
