probably not the right forum for this but thought you all might like to try and figure what it came from...I think I know...maybe!!!
 
With that channel in it....it looks like a sand polished stingray barb.

Hey kat, I far as I can find out it is a lower tusk from a javelina. It was found in an area that is known for artifacts on an antelope hunting reserve. Not sure if its an artifact because javelina had not migrated that far north until the early 1700's. The stuff I find there is way older than that.
...exciting find...what is it from....waiting....need to know...please?
 
We're nearly covered up with wild boar here.. I harvest them fairly regularly... does not look like one to me.
They all have a very prominent bend and they are hollow and somewhat square looking toward the root section.
 
not sure what kind it is,its neat though.
