to cold to water hunt (temps were at freezing)
- hooked up with my land partner to hit some farm fields
first places we hit - foot prints all over - we did not get much
last spot as we were heading out to go home - I got a nickel vdi # hit - thought it was gonna be another small piece of can slaw
was surprised when I picked it up out of the dirt and gave a slight rub and saw anchor
its pewter - friend thinks its a Continental Rev War naval button - might be rare - at very least not very common
others have confirmed - its Rev war
UPDATE - Very rare- 2 coat and 3 cuffs known (mine being one of them) - have been told by a couple of guys that write books on rare buttons - they wish they had it in their collections
