I found a key today in front of a home that dates back before 1890.
Across the top of the Key it says Yale and Towne MFG. CO. Stamford. Conn. U.S.A.
YALE is right below the hole, in an enclosed bracket.
Head of key is round.
Across the body of the key (the portion that goes in the door) it says security.
Back of key across top says Yale made is Yale marked
below hole is "This key-blank is made by the makers of Yale locks for Ed. Martin & Bro Norfolk VA"
Any idea or general time stamp? Thanks for the help!
