Our options at this time of year is close to zero, but we heard about a small area of bird cover that had been disced up. The aim of today was to get a few Roman Coins as we have only had 4 this month (so far). We covered the small 1.5 acres slowly in just over 5 hours. We have previous covered this area 3 times, so we didn't expect much in the shallow 3inch turn over, which was fairly choppy as well. We cleared ever last tiny iron nail & will not need to return to this area again (unless they deep plough, which is rare)
5 Roman Coins
1 Roman Fibula
2 6th Century Saxon Brooch fragments - a rare surprise, specially as its the first Saxon off this farm.8)8)
