Detector(s) used
delta 4000 / ace 250 - used BH and many others too
I was metal detecting after a rough storm at one of the oldest sites I know of in my area that produces stuff from all over the time range from the 1600's to present day clad coinage --you name it --you never know just what you will find there --today on the surface about 1/2 exposed by the rain I saw this gem ---to be honest at first I thought it was a musketball of some sort at first but it didn't ring up as metal -- so I bent down and picked it loose from the dirt and lo and behold -- a colonial era english type clay marble (brits controlled florida 1763 to 1783) -- so into the pocket it went. ;D Ivan

Ivan, congrats on the eyeball find. Just wondering, how are you able to date it? I have found 9 of them but have no way of knowing how old they are. Check the link below:

Any idea on the ages? I did find that some clay marbles were made into the 1900s.

I too have found one that looks just like it. Dug a piece of jun...er, I mean a relic ;D and it rolled to the bottom of the hole. Nice old marble.
