Went out for a bit yesterday, close to the house. Hit or miss type spot (was a miss). Couple non-fired 9mm pistol cartridges, couple pieces of modern lead, various farming pieces, a horse tack buckle that had a date with my shovel, and this…..

Pj Ritter bridgeton nj. It’s an Owens Illinois bottle. Marked duraglass with a 4 and 2. Best I can tell it began life as a repository for spicy ketchup.

Any bottle experts have other ideas, I’m all ears.

There may be a few around that can help.

I'm sure you're right that it's a ketchup (catsup) bottle, and Ritter sold a 'Tabasco Flavored' version.

The '4' to the left of the Owens Illinois logo is the plant code for Clarksburg, WV in operation between 1930-1944. The digit '2' to the right is the date code, which could be for either 1932 or 1942. However, since Duraglas finishing wasn't introduced until 1940, the bottle will be from 1942.

Nice one !
