1824 Largie. In pretty nice shape as well. Private residence in Kentucky. 199 years old. There were 24 states. James Monroe was president. Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, were still part of Mexico. Charles Dickens was 12 years old. Florida was still a "territory". Our nation was 48 years young. All this just puts it in perspective how old this coin and just totally blows my mind.
Thanks for looking and good luck out there folks. We have some wet stormy weather coming over the next week, so hunting will be limited between rain drops and lightning bolts!

Congrats on your first LC, where there is one the site usually has another lurking in the dirt.

Congrats on your first largie!

Nice find and cool perspective.

Nice find. Congrats on your new first. You're only about 20 miles from my hometown of Petersburg. Petersburg was originally named Tanner's Station 1789, so you know there are some more oldies around.

Oh yes! I have a place down there I detected, but I suspect it's been cleaned out already. Not even any modern coins!
