I found these items today. Two of them look like pieces of china plates. Other two items I'm not sure what they may be. I had an idea on one, but not so sure pic1.webppic2.webppic3.webp

Looks like 4 pieces of trash to me.

wow. AWESOME reply. What are you doing here again?

OP, I think the white shard on the bottom is part of an old Mason jar lid.

You can find broken glass / pottery EVERYWHERE. Like the milk glass looks to be a broken lid for a canning jar. There is no historic value in that unless FDR ran over it in his wheelchair during one of his fireside chats.

Then you have what might be 1920s-1940s floral china.

Next, maybe a fairly modern gate latch or something else similar?

Just because it's found at an old site doesn't mean you should take it home.

You are in WV. Go find some old stuff!

Again, that is your opinion. You might not like finding that sort of thing but I do. So what if I take those home with me? This is a forum to post and ask questions last I checked. I don't know exactly what your problem is but you don't have to be rude with people, so why don't you go troll somebody else for awhile.

just use your ignore function, i already did. All you have to do is go to that person's profile and check their posts.
You find out a lot about the poster that way.

anyhoo, don't be discouraged, I'm sure you'll get some serious answers, there are a lot of helpful people here.

Interesting copper item with the leaf design top right. Is it folded or smashed? Can you carefully open it and take another pic? Maybe clean it too and something for size.

The brass item looks like a corner protector from an old photo album.

The iron piece is just a heavy duty hook. It could have been used to hang almost anything. Is the nut on it square or hex? Hex might indicate a more modern piece.

Thanks guys for the replies. I'll try and clean that piece a little better and see if I can get you a better pic of it. I don't think it'll open unfortunately. The nut on the hanger is square. All these are stuff I've been finding along with old wagon pieces. One of the pieces was dated 1878.

Haha, ok bud. I hope your wife/gf is supportive of you bringing home actual trash. Wait until you get to a farm field where those pieces of glass / pottery are visible with every step. You are going to be in trouble.

Bazinga, why don't you lay off the newbie. TNet has already gone through enough stress with the new software without you adding condescending comments to someone who is trying to get help on an ID. Breezie

WELCOME to the forum! I agree with Matt on the possibility of the filigree piece being book corners. I'd like to see pics of it cleaned-up. Interesting find, Breezie

I helped give some IDs of what the items were. People only like to point out the negative.

When I was a kid mom TRIED to teach us "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all." For once I think I'll take her advice and say: bazinga, I'm sure your a nice person.
