Went out today for a bit... not to much. I've been trying to transition into my F75 from the Compadre and Silver UMax. I mainly just followed my youngling around checking the targets with my machine. Certainly a learning curve. Time will tell if VDI suits me.

Couple coppers, clad and turkey needle.

Don't get all caught up in the TDI, you can tell by the sound if you should even look at the display. I run mine with 4H tones so nickels ring in as a high tone. I had a Tesoro detector and could not get used to the one pitch tone with nuances. I rather have 2 or more tones depending on where I am hunting. In the fields I sometimes use 2 tones especially back east, but around my area I am more comfortable running 4. The F75 isn't as complicated as others might want to make it seem. It goes deep even at a lower sensitivity. I try not to run it too hot so as to reduce the falsing. I disc out 1 thru 14, 4H tone and sensitivity 65-75 in DE mode. If the ground is rutty I change to PF (plowed field) mode to reduce falsing on the ruts since I have a fast swing.. If I am in a trashy area I switch to my 5"DD coil and go into FA (Fast Audio) mode.

WOW! All my machine says is, "dig here!" or "don't dig here!" :dontknow:

Congratulations on getting out.
Reaching into a hole and grabbing that Turkey Basting Needle the wrong way could cause a world of pain.

I was actually considering getting the F75 LTD. Would you say that it would be an upgrade from the ATP?

Thanks for the info.... I've basically been trying all the tones; DE, 80sens, 12-18 disc. I'm leaning toward 3 tone.. but, I really just need to spend more time with it. I certainly like the machine and plan on spending more time with it.

I can't say if it's an upgrade.. they both have a huge following and both are fantastic machines by reputation. I think the Fisher may have some advantage on depth in certain situations. However; I believe both machines will serve you well.

I researched a lot over a year on what I wanted.. I was looking for something that I felt I would not want to upgrade from; something long term..in the end; i felt the Fisher was a better choice for me.

Congratulations on getting out.

I agree... that's exactly what I thought when I got home; I actually thought it was a galvanized nail when I dug it. Then I realized I could have had a dirt injection.

Any time swinging is good time! :icon_thumleft:

I see that you did get the F75.. I honestly think it is an upgrade from the AT pro.. I think both machines are good machines. The Fisher is very sensitive and will let you know that there is a lot of stuff in the dirt; it doesn't miss much. It's up to you to be able to make a decision on what to dig. It takes time to learn and get confident with it. Like you are confident with the pro. In the end it all comes down to personal preference.

I'm actually a big fan of Tesoro.. with the Fisher I hear something good; then I look at the Numbers. With Tesoro I would dig it; with fisher I second guess it. However, I'm going to stick with it and I believe I'll be more effective and efficient when I have more time with the machine.

It's a fantastic machine; no doubt. It's like dating a fantastic woman, you know she's fantastic but not right for you or you know and you get hitched.

Something like that.. haha.
