got out to do some digging before the rain and snow came in. mostly jar lids and such. but did find what I believe to be a 1770's George lll half penny

Maybe its my eyes, but the mouth and nose look odd. Facing right whatever it is. Any reverse side pics ? :dontknow:
 

I have found a few like this in Ontario, I would say its a blacksmiths token made from an old coin. Very common in early 19th C. Always a nice find :thumbsup:
 

Yeap Geo III Halfpenny, flip a coin as to whether a counterfeit or not.
 

Nice old coin. Anything from the 1700's is a fantastic find imo.

Rather than the regular British halfpennies, it appears to be of the Machin Mill's variety, minted for the States, or at that time, the colonies.
