Say a few years ago, one filed a small miner's waiver correctly and it was accepted by the BLM but then on the notice of intent to hold that was filed, the wrong year was written in the blank. Instead of for the upcoming assessment year, like on the SMW, it was for the current assessment year. If this filing was accepted by the BLM, shouldn't they have noticed that it would have been well past the due date for filing a NIH for the current year and notified the claimant?
If such an incorrect filing were accepted by the BLM would there be a need/possibility to correct this error? Or would it be in the best interest of the claimant to let sleeping dogs lie, seeing that in August of 2023 the BLM accepted payment of the maintenance fee for the 2024 assessment year?
