Whites M-6 with Bullseye Pinpointer
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I purchased a Whites M-6 in Nov and am still learning it but have some finds to show.

Basic Detecting Data: Whites M-6; earbuds; Bullseye pin pointer; hunt small city parks, ball fields, and schools; clay soil; Beavercreek Oh area; fall and winter hunting

I found the necklace and braided ring in Xenia, Oh city park (downtown 2 acres park used regularly--Old Fashioned Days Celebration--each summer).

Small braided ring was a +14 VDI, porpoise ring showed as a penny +VDI 77, necklace was 3" down but don't remember VDI--it was obviously long so I dug.

I used to live in mad river , ohio from the mid 70's till the early 90's---- near the hydro bowel park area -- they had many large outdoor concerts in the 80's and high powered race boats raced on the lake in the summer. --- both the concerts and races drew huge crowds --- I used to got to walter e stebbins --class of 1979

Super job on the jewelry recovery. Looks like you have everything under control with the M6.

I've hit a couple Parks/schools in Xenia, but didn't have that luck!! Congrats!!

Welcome from the UK.

Love the avatar "Hunt, dig, pray" - Always in that order?

VDI readings I find very hit & miss. If I could pass on any bit of wisdom it would be look at the reading but dig it anyway. Trust the sound before you trust the reading. Dig the rubbish out & the gold will follow.

Happy Hunting :)

Good point about going to the Hydra Bowl area. I will have to go there and try detecting.

My friend Jeff and I are going to go to several outdoor events this year and take photos. We want to be able to remember later where the people were standing or where the concessions stands were located.

I have been studying the history of the area and have found a number of old schools but they are all on private property and don't have the courage to ask...yet.

Does anyone have an idea of how good searching the sidewalk-to-curb strips. Any jewelry or old coins. I seem to only find clad.

You did very well, especially considering the areas you hunted have been heavily hunted by other MDers. Fantastic finds!
