Now where's that scraper...

(Puget Sound Beach)

Found a nice little opalized petrified wood scraper - even has a neat little twig knot hole in the middle,
another what's it? 'flint/chert' partial artifact of some sort, and a bone of some sort that I left there.

Great winter day to be hunting on the beach.

Nice shot of the beach. I love that opalized, petrified piece, it's a beaut! What in the world was the bone piece?

Tide is about half way in - beach will be completely covered in about 3 more hours, and completely down again in about 6 hours.

The opalized petrified wood was brought in from the desert areas of Eastern Washington or Eastern Oregon - mountain ranges and many rivers away. Always cool to find a "well traveled" piece !

Don't have a clue about that bone. Only a tiny part was sticking up, and I was quite surprised to see it's size when I pulled it out. We've had a number of winter storms, and the level of beach/gravel in this spot has dropped about 2 feet. I don't know anything about bones - it could be old or newer, just hope it's not human...
