Went out for a short hunt with a buddy of mine, all I could find was nickels but I got dates off all which is amazing. The ground is starting to freeze, we really had to put some mustard on the shovels to get them in, especially in leaf free areas. Soon I’ll be traveling to your house to digSo if you see a blue dodge in the driveway, put on coffee please.

Nice group of nickels those some pretty “V”’s:occasion14:

I rarely find a nickel. They always end up being pulltabs. Congrats.

Nice job on the Nickels Bob. You pulled off the trifecta.

Very nice results with those deep nickels! It makes me wonder if that site was previously hunted with some older tech and/or discrim set too high leading to the easier targets getting removed. Also wonder if there was something for sale in the area long ago that cost a nickel.

It’s an old lake side city park long over grown. It has a TON of old beer cans, melted blobs of stolen cars and bottle caps. The whole place encompasses about 1 square mile and we can go in with small coils and always find coins. Between me and my hunting buddy we’ve pulled 30 or 40 silver coins out of here this year, nothing very old though and that’s why I started using a bigger coil and looking deep.

Stolen cars in MA? I'm shocked, shocked... When I left MA in the 1970's after college, I thought auto theft was the main industry in the state.

I like your approach to this site with different coils.

LMAO, my sister’s 1971 Ford Torino got ripped off 3 times, the last time they never found it

I was last in MA right after Easter for my mom's funeral. I saw potholes big enough to hide a Torino. My brother buys his cars at a junkyard because the roads are so bad they wreck any car and the older ones are cheaper to repair. Its amazing how people get used to it.

I read an article recently about how auto thieves avoid manual transmissions because so few people today know how to drive a manual transmission.

Great finds, Bob. Bring the blue Dodge around anytime, I have some cornfield permissions we can hit... don’t forget the jackhammer. Let’s hook up in the Spring and see what we can find.

Sounds good Devin, hows the knee? My buddy’s bringing me to a spot out in Hardwick mass. On Monday, supposed to be 50*. If we get a thaw, give me a call.
Have a great Christmas !!

Bob - the knee is really shot. Had surgery just before Thanksgiving. Hurts more now than it did before. Very disappointing. I may need to rig up some sort of MDr to a walker, kind of like a mini GPR device. Still using the milk crate?

They’re talking about replacing my knee too, I don’t use the crate anymore but it still hurts like he11. I usually go digging early while my pain killers are in “full effect” but pay for it later. How do you like the nox800? I love my 600. Let me know when you want to hit the fields.
Have a great Christmas !!

Merry Christmas to you as well my friend. I’m looking forward to giving the dueling Noxs a workout.
