It's been almost 3 weeks since this story broke yet the search for the two guys who broke out of Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate NY is still very much on. They seem to have disappeared like a puff of smoke in a head wind. Obviously the elaborate plans they made to get out included how to stay gone.
I can't help but be reminded of the June 11, 1962 escape from Alcatraz by Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers John & Clarence. They also went to extraordinary lengths in breaking 'The Rock.' It's been 53 years and if recently uncovered facts by National Geographic are true they survived. The U.S. Marshalls are still actively looking for them and will be until their 100th birthdays.
The takeaway is that where there's a will --- there's a way. It will be interesting to see how this recent escape plays out. While I don't condone their actions my money is on the escapees making good. As time goes by the odds continue to increase a little more in their favor. It's far fetched to think that they're on a beach somewhere like Tim Robbin's character Andy Dufresne at the end of the movie 'The Shawshank Redemption.' However, I'm sure that wherever they are freedom tastes every bit as sweet....
