Obviously wasn't a Timex

Wife and I went out this afternoon. We both got a ton of trash, about 4 bucks in clad and the more interesting stuff pictured below. I thought the round thing was some kind of compact and the back was the lid because inside was all chalky white. We got it home and she says "it's a watch" so I put it in some olive oil and was amazed that stuff cleaned up the face somewhat nicely to see some detail. Was hoping someone could edumacate me some on the bullets. I hear "3-ring" around the forums but don't know what it is. The place these were found was an army fort from 1870-1900'ish. Found the shells in the middle of the field, the bullets in front of a very tall embankment a few hundred feet away.
Here's some pics.
