You should check out Ocala’s Historic District as well as Fort King.

The Historic District has a lot of awesome older houses. If is worth taking a walk or drive to check out the area. I walked the area near the Ocala First United Methodist Church. There are also older homes on the North side of 40.

Fort King dates to the Seminole Indian war(s). They reconstructed the Fort and there are few trails that you can check out. When I went to the fort a few years back it was free. You can’t detect on the fort property, but there is private property (houses/yards) bordering the fort.

If you get a chance to check the fort or Historic District let me know what your thoughts are.
