Hi Everyone, I bought a small box of military & Police buttons. They were all old and backmarked. I have one though, that I would like some help in identifying. I found some buttons on this site that looked similar but were excavated, said to be Confederate, and backmarked. So, I’m not getting excited about this one but still curious. It is silver in color, the block “I” on the front, no markings, pretty clean, not perfectly rounded, has some flat spots around the edge, the back looks like a drilled hole shank possibly soldered on. it measures 7/8”, is hefty, and not magnetic. Thanks, Cheryl

Fairly certain a reproduction of a Confederate "I" Infantry button.

Since the Confederate Bock "I" is a reproduction, I wonder about your other buttons. You might want us to look at them too.

I’m pretty sure the others are OK. will try to upload a few pics. The Eagle button has a backmark of The Art Metalworks Newark NJ, the Chicago City Police button is backmarked Detective Publishing Co.Chicago Il. . The other button is the signing of the Declaration of Independence that says We The People, but……no backmark. That might be just a repop too.
