I'm used to finding a Canadian or Mexican coin mixed in with all the U.S. coins I dig but this was a first for me. 9 coins in the same hole, all from the 1970's. Eastern Europe, middle east and Asian currency. Probably all worthless but it was fun to find something out of the ordinary. What it was doing in the ground in a park in Washington state is beyond me. Happy Hunting.

Looks to be fresh buried. Not a single sign they were ever in the ground for any length of time at all. Strange

Oh they were plenty filthy at first but cleaned up well after a quick soak in boiling peroxide. Since these were not valuable coins, I used toothpaste to shine them up after that.

Cleaned up well.

Maybe Grasshopper from the show "Kung Fu" came to America (in the '70's), was too afraid of muggers so he buried his loot! :occasion14:

weird but cool finds! congrats

That is a strange sort of coin spill find - all cleaned very good and "congrats" to you - thanks for sharing & I wish you many more great finds.

That is a different kind of coin spill. Maybe some child took them to school for show and tell then went to the park to have some fun and forgot about them.

You're right Skippy. My Dad used to travel to Taiwan, Singapore and other places on business (not that he wanted to!). He brought back leftover coins. Started to give a few to me, but I had zero interest. So he gave them to Mom. ...Now I have them again!! :BangHead:

WHAT THA HAEL HAVE WE GOT HERE ?
