Odd.... (mystery solved)

Well, as i was detecting and old (modern-ish) house site, i came across something very odd. It is about 3 inches tall and 2 and a half inches long(on the top) It is in the shape of a T, and says "BERG MFG. CO. CHICAGO U.S.A SHUR-LOCK" At the bottom, it has 4 holes and at the top, there is an oblong hole in the shape of a semi-circle. On the back there is, in cursive, "Bery". It might be a rv hook up, but i'm not sure, if so is there a date. I also found a broken cap gun. if you still don't know, i'll post a picture.

Please Help.......

Got some advive from a friend, he said that is was a tail-gate hook-up assembly from 1950's, hope to find silver there too

My first guess would be that its from the Berg manufacturing that makes musical instruments, made before the name changed to Humes & Berg. It could be a peice from one of their heavy duty carrying cases... like part of the lock, thus the shur-lock.
