OFF SHORE LEASE 1715 SITES?

You can hunt from toe of dunes to waterline along the treasure coast, but you can NOT put the coil in the water on the lease sites unless you are working for a lease owner. The state and the lease owners very much do care.

Somehow I'm sure they have an army of enforcers that monitor that... 🤣

They use to pay the homeowners yearly to report people they saw in water with detectors, I don't know if they still do. I know this because the salvage teams came into Kellyco for equipment repair when I worked in the detector repair center. It is considered a crime to illegally detect in the water in lease areas.

Just the ticket and getting detector back or vehicle out of impound lot would be too much for me, there are over 750 miles of legal beaches to hunt to worry about 50 miles where it's illegal.

I'm with you on that, I'm just thinking that if you go to any public beach in Florida or the USA and there are no SIGNS designating something is prohibited then it would never stand up in court, Yes maybe YOU know where those boundaries are but my guisse is that 99.9% of people going to the beaches don't. There is NO way to determine where those boundaries are when you are on the beach. Maybe someone can call someone if they see someone wading in the surf with a metal detector, but I'm not convince that they are going to be hauled off to jail and their car and metal detector confiscated.. it seems a bit extreme when you can just go and tell them that this area is off limits to this type of hunting and be done with it.. Seems like the cost of dragging someone in for this is blown way out of proportion
