OFFICIAL LA BAYOU HUNT - DETAIL UPDATES 4/4/08!!! Pg 14

OK So here is what I will do.

I will bring a laptop and external hard drive with 100 GB or free space or so. We can copy anyone's who has the ability, on the spot onto the hard drive Saturday evening. Then I can get it all together and take it to my friend for the editting and production.

Most digital camcorders should let you copy right onto a hard drive on a computer. Now this in an area of computer stuff I'm not all that up on. Does anyone know how all this is done??? I have fiddled with this a little. Mostly I just take my small Camcorder here at the house and plug it in via Firewire and then dump the raw footage onto the computer and burn it directly to DVD without editting it. It's all very confusing to me. Anyone, and I mean anyone, who knows about this stuff feel free to speak up because I'm not to proud to admit I would really love a video of the event but don't know enough about it not to mess it all up. But I also know enough to muddle through, I think.

As for BB in a TuTu that would have to be on the unrated version which would sell for sl more $$$$ ;D :D

The only way I know how to deal with the camera (or will before I leave... thanks to himself) is to plunk it directly to DVD also. However, we can then make copies and anyone can have at it from there.

I do have a tripod - & will bring it, just in case. So much for shaky video.

Anyone with a CTH video - would you like to bring it? I've ordered mine, but due to my own inefficiency (as well as that of the USPS (- don't even ask), I still don't have it yet. Would love to see it.

Frankly, I don't know how I'm going to fit in the truck with all the stuff that's coming along. You'd think we were moving in (just kidding, Noodle - DON'T PANIC!)

Dang, it's gettin' CLOSE!

Nan

Geez-o-Pete, RR - you're gonna have to take out a loan for the gas to haul all that stuff!

and I thought I had a lot of stuff... wow.

Hey I didn't think about that one. I have a DVD recorder a set top one. We could just stick a DVD in and record raw footage to it. It has line in RCA ports. So anyone with a camcorder that's bringing it what equipment do I need to bring along????

Ros I'll bring the CTH DVD if noone else is brining theirs.

Master eagle.......My camcorder is analog, so it wont be much help but I can film with my camera with sound and just plug it right into a usb port to upload to pc. hope this helps. shane ???

Actually if you have an analog camera with a way to connect it to a line in on a VCR (RCA jack) then I can plug it straight into the DVD recorder and use it to record off your camera. It's not that complicated if your camera came with a cable like mine did. Looks like a small stero jack on one end and has three RCA plugs on the other, a RED one, white and yellow.

Anyway I forgot all about having a TV to hook this up to. Cannot carry a TV becuse I just don't have the room in my car. :-(

Hiya!

OK, all you video hounds. I'm a computer hound. If you've got the video, pictures, or whatever, I'm sure we can make something of it. I have a new Toshiba running Vista. It has a DVD maker program that looks pretty easy, but I've never used it. I know computers, I'm not an artist. But I can make slide shows, with music, and given enough time, and vodka, i can probably put together a DVD. I'll have all my stuff there either way and we'll just see what everyone wants to try. I can also burn and duplicate DVDs on my computer. So, everyone bring what you've got, and we'll make something work. See you all there!!!

ME, as for the computer-XP Media Edition has the Media Center program for editing tapes, pics, and music.
As for the DVD recorder, all that should be needed is the RCA plugs that come with most camcorders.
I've got a fair # of blank DVD-R discs that I can bring. Unless there is a shortcut, most camcorders play back to a DVD recorder in real time---meaning a 2 hr recorded tape/disc takes 2 hr to copy.

Yes but just he first one. Because once you had the DVD recorded you could make copies with a DVD buring program like Nero or Easy CD, I THINK. As I stated in a prior post I am very good with computers, not so much the AV thing.

Anyway hope we can work something out.

Noodle, you might want to tell the elect. co. to crank up their aux. generator. With all this stuff plugged in, they'll need more output + they'll probably want to charge you commercial rates. :D :laughing7:

Note to self: Pack an extra surge protector power strip.

lol best bring extra generators AND power strips from the sound of it!

Master........shouldnt be a problem i do have the rca connector that goes with the cam corder. This is going to be some additional fun!!!

as for the camera set up, i have the burner to hook my camera to, it dont take long to copy and then it will make another or as many as we need, it will be with me...i will let someone else make the edited copy, i think i have everything needed to make the first copy and we can go from there, i do not have a firewire so if someone has one we can burn them faster,,, not a puter geek but i can do a few things with mine,,,,, we will see when we get there, also have a tripod, and a mono(one legged pod) i hope that is what its called. all we need is someone to do the recording,,,dang this is turning into a longer post than i meant for it to be....see ya all friday, we plan to be there around 2 or 3 in the afternoon,,, help its getting longer-------------thats all

We have a color tv in the greenhouse (small), and Dan has outlets all over the place, one very mobile. We'll work it out. He told me a while ago that he still has some electricity to run, so he's still working on some of it.

ME, my camcorder has the colored lines to connect it to a tv. Will that work to connect it to something else? You can see it when you get here. If it can't be used, I'm going to tape anyway, if I can get it to work and can find tapes. I know with a VCR, we can make CDs of the films.

Thanks, everybody, for your assistance! :-*

You guys go ahead and bring all that stuff. And while all of you are bent over around all those cameras, camcrders, computers, digital and digital that,I'll be the one out there detecting. Will there be nightvision cameras, also.Someone must have that setup also.

lol Daddy is trying to keep you guys busy with nightvision so he can win that hat that RR squished! rofl

The hat is squishable. But, it's not squashed in the trunk...trunk lid not even touching. I know several people wanting that hat already, we'll just let them fight it out. :tard:
