we're at the days inn right now. just got here and catching an hour or so break before heading to noodles. caught rain off and on all the way and is pouring down at present. i was wearing shorts but jeez it cooled off real quick ;D
looking forward to meeting everyone. neil

WE are at the Days Inn Now and so is Roswellborn. She had to stop in Jackson and bail us out of the pokey.

Actually we had a minor mishap with an automobile issue. BB tried to look out his window and the sun caught just right and he saw his own reflection in the window and "BOOM" glass went everywhere! :-[ :'( :'( :'(

A couple of wrong turns in the wrong part of town, some backtracking and with a wallet $200 lighter, we got the window replaced and are now here in Rayville. Getting ready to head over to Noodles.

On the bright side the man who owns the Glass shop has always wanted to metal detect and he and his family have some property on the Natchez Trace (spelling?). He said no one has ever hunted it with a detector and there is a spring on the property where people used to camp!!!!!! :o :o :o He was very nice and invited BB and I to come back and hunt it if we ever wanted to! Lucky us!!!!

Never a dull moment when you travel with BB and ME22!

Actually, it wasn't my reflection, it was SWAMP GAS that had built up in the car due to all the BS flying around. When we drove back by that place, the police were there investigating. REALLY! Apparently that has happened to several people in that area the last few days. See ya all at the hunt!!!!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'll miss hunting with you guys too....If you and BB hunt as hard as you do in MO you'll be the Grandmasters of the parade at the end. Y'all be careful and please tell everyone I say hello.

Have a blast and let me know how things go......Hope someone brought the Camcorder! Gotta see BB all dressed up.

There.

My countdown has come to an end. I know there was some debate on my ability to count but Hey it worked out!!!!! Everyone who is traveling be careful. Got my picture taken a bunch on the way here to quote some old CB vernacular.

Cynangyl, come on he even admitted that he photshopped my picture. At my picture of him in the TuTu is a REAL picture ::)

Ridge I will really miss hunting with you. You are a very talented detectorist and I really wanted to talk to you catch up and watch you find another stunning find like you did at the CTH. Well maybe next time.

OK as soon as I can roll BB out of bed, we'll be moving along. Hey anyone know what happens when you pour a bottle of water on someone then toss a turned on hair dryer in the mix?????? ::)

Oh boy! Folks are already signing in, windows are being blown out by someone with gas, tornadoes, bad roads.....this has the makings of a movie! ;D

Should be good ground conductivity. Nice and wet in Central Louisiana. Hope all your finds are gold and silver and nice buckles, etc.!

Ok I need to clear up a few legal issues:

1. No deer or other wildlife was injured or psychologically scarred in the making of Baldingboy and Mastereagle22 go to Archibald
2. Yes the window really did explode and yes the police really did go out and check it out
3. Baldingboy does NOT wear a TuTu although it is EMENSELY fun for me to tease him about it here on the forum
4. I now have my very own Camo TuTu thanks to the ladies of the LaLa sisterhood. (Gonna need to lose about oh 150 pounds to fit into it though!)
5. The food tonight was for lack of better words, out-freaking-standing!!!!
6. I met some new people today that are really nice and this hunt promises to be AWESOME!!!

7. And last but not least, watch out for that little mud puddle you have to drive through to get to the hunt site. My car got a little dirty on the way in and then even a little more dirty on the way out. I don't know what they put in the mud here in LA but it's like SUPER GLUE!!!!

Now it's off to sleep, 5 AM comes EARLY!!!

One of the cutest thing we saw on the way in was someone's personal covered bridge in the middle of the driveway.

Another cute thing we saw was this, I may have to discount ME's statement. BB does own a pink tutu. :DDCAM0059.webp

Hey M E, that's what they call "Gumbo Mud". But not to worry, wet it down good at the car wash, wait a few minutes and it comes right off with the high pressure sprayer and some old fashioned elbow grease. My truck got it's share also today. I'll have to bring my camera tomorrow and take a couple of pics of the driveway entrance. We watched one guy in a Jimmy getting sideways and almost ran off the road going in today. That rain was just enough to make everyting slick. It should dry up quick tomorrow and be much better.

We met lots of nice folks and ate some great food. There was angel food cake with fresh cut strawberries and whipped cream that was out of this world. My wife loved the "mudbugs" with potatoes and corn. Everyone was very nice and I've already met some really good folks. This is my first hunt, but I am totally impressed with the caliber of people attending and have already learned a few things from the serious relic hunters.

Noodle and her A$$ are really great, and I can't thank them enough for putting on this hunt. They have a beautiful place complete with dogs, chickens and a cat. I also would like to take a moment, and thank everone else that helped make this hunt possible. I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning and seeing what everyone finds at the old house places that we are going to hunt.

Did you guys eat some of the out-freakin-standing dinner for me too?? lol So glad no one was emotionally scarred on the trip.....still wanna know what was up with the exploding window though! lol A Camo tutu eh? tooo cool! We want pics!! I see you fibbed about BB not having a pink tutu....we got pics of that one! Thanks Jeff!! rofl I love the covered bridge too!! You guys all give each other hugs for me and have a fantastic time!!

The dinner was totally awesome!! I can't believe they changed my mind--no more crawdads for fishbait only. They were outstanding with potatoes and corn and the catfish and hushpuppies were so delish...YUM!
1 1/2 helpings of strawberries and angel food cake. Ohhhh the calories, but worth it!!!!

Cyn, we definitely took a few bites for you.
