too bad Justin Wilson the real cajun cook passed on huh. that man could cook and bring his own wine!!!hey noodle sent you a pm . hi y'all. had a heat wave up here in great lakes in high 30's. still to much ice and snow to md. just put up with the breakfast the motels offer friends im sure noodle isnt going to let anybody be hungry. bless her heart . hh goldie

This is one of the prizes shown earlier but I OFFICIALLY have it in hand now. This magazine is AWESOME. They also included some blank order forms for anyone that wants to subscribe. Butch puts this thing together with the help of his wife. They have a really good publication.

Just to give y'all a taste of the history that we find in this area of the country. Tensas has just got permission to hunt a cotton field across the road from his house. There would have been several structures on this property through the years. Slave houses, tool sheds, etc. The property borders the Texas Road on the South and Mud Bayou on the North. Steam boats used to come up Mud Bayou to load cotton. The only structures left standing in this field are two above ground Civil War graves. The grave on the right had a wood casket that has completely rotted away through the years. The left side had a casket made of cast iron. As you can see in the photos the bones are still visible. The land owner stated that the casket on the left had the body of a Confederate Officer, and not to many years ago you could still see the brass buttons and parts of the uniform. Unfortunately it looks as if either animal or man has removed any signs of the uniform. We do not and do not condone others to disturb these sights. The land owner is going to make an effort to restore the graves as they have been covered up and neglected over the years. Also within a quarter of a mile of Tensas house are old slave grave yards and many Civil War buttons and belt buckles have been found through the years. Tensas has found many arrowheads in his back yard. See pictures below. RiverRat, watch out for the VooDoo, bad MoJo here.

Great photos--Can the land owner get help from the state historical socity to redo the graves?
Or would they take over his land --dont know how different states do things --would they be intrested in helping?

Goldie, wish you could be with us. Justin Wilson, I have many fond memories of him...he is from my neck of the woods, when he lived in Port Vincent, he would come to a IGA store in Livingston to buy his groceries. Then again, he was a good buddy of my brother...always there in the strawberry fields together, when Justin would pay a visit. He was a character...WSD kinda reminds me of Justin. Always joking with the ladies.

Those are spooky looking...we have a bunch at the Springfield Cemetery. One when I walked up to it, I just didn't want to get any closer...it was open & exposed like the one you took a pic of. Just too scary...no pictures, here's a picture of another. Some of the vaults/tombs date back to the early 1830's.

I really wanted to try and do my part for the hunt, so I contacted my Rep at Red Bull ( Who has helped me greatly in the past) and he sent over some product for the hunt...Not sure how everyone feels about energy drinks, but I hope this helps in some small way....really does give you a boost for those long hunts!

Is red bull a good idea? All we need is someone jacked up on red bull with hers/his machine justa swinging.
At least I will get a laugh out of it. Wondering how fast can Noodles Place be hunted.
